For over a decade, we’ve been Botswana’s trusted source for professional fire fighting and safety training, empowering fire fighters and emergency responders with real-world skills and experience.
Company Background
The College of Fire and Safety is Botswana’s first and only accredited firefighting institution, offering long-term fire, rescue, and safety training. We provide corporate, industrial, and public safety courses, including NCQF Level 1–6 programmes, supported by expert instructors and realistic training environments. By localizing firefighter training and partnering with specialist organizations, we help position Botswana as a leader in fire, rescue, and safety standards especially vital in the country’s mining industry.
We also, provide multi service training for emergency service professionals locally. With over 10 years’ experience in delivering fire and rescue training nationally, we specialise in equipping today’s fire-fighters and other emergency responders with the best possible skills and training together with the latest techniques and procedures, coupled with our expert instructors. We provide the opportunity for our learners to train and discharge their duties exercise in a realistic and challenging environment, for a learning experience that is second to none locally. We also regularly recruit qualified, talented and ambitious seconded officers from the Botswana Fire Department and Rescue Service to deliver specialist training to our learners. Fire fighters training is currently offered abroad and the College of Fire and Safety is now introducing the course locally as short courses to cater for professionals in the market.
Who We Are
We are Botswana’s pioneering Botswana Qualifications Authority(BQA) accredited TVET Training College. Our registration number is ETP0117.
We were officially registered as a College in 2017 after eight years registration and accreditation as a safety Consultancy with BQA and the HRDC.The college has now graduated a large number of fire safety professional in the flagship certificate V in fire safety program, for which many have been absorbed by some companies. The college curriculum is different in that we strive to train the Heart, the head and the hand, we pride ourselves in outcomes based training, our training is very practical and fun.
College of Fire Safety’s key focus areas is the development of young talent, female involvement into the industry and today boasts of locally trained lecturers suited for Botswana’s safety landscape. Our programs are intended to address needs prevalent in our space. The college is continuing its expansion into a number of related market sectors including HAZMAT response, Fire technologies and installations, fire audits and recommendations including emergency service

Whether we’re taking part in fundraising events, offering our facilities to support a local cause, or contributing directly from our salaries to help people in need, giving to charity is integral to our role in the community.
College Of Fire And Safety supports employees who take part in charitable activities by providing additional funding for the charity. In addition College runs a central payroll giving scheme that provides a simple and efficient way for our people to give money to their chosen charities. Every employee is able to take one day a year as paid volunteering leave.
College of Fire & Safety Foundation Contribution
Run by a committee of volunteers drawn from College staff, the foundation is the
social and charitable arm of the College. It provides a social network for employees,
delegates and the local community.
Throughout the year the foundation holds a
number of fundraising events in support of nominated charities. These events include
formal functions and an annual firework display but are not limited to them.
Accreditation - BQA
Our awarding bodies are approved by the Qualifications Regulator to provide
qualifications in Botswana.
They all develop and deliver nationally recognised
qualifications and ensure that, through regular visits, we maintain the required
standards through robust quality assurance assessments, verification and delivery.
International Accreditations
PRO BOARD NFPA- It’s our wish for the college to become the centre of fire knowledge in Botswana to achieve Pro Board accreditation to certify to the US-based National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Standards.
The NFPA is a leading world authority on fire prevention and safety. The accreditation is the Pro Board stamp of approval of the College’s test certification processes and procedures, which tests the knowledge, skills and abilities of learners wishing to be certified to NFPA standards.
